I’ve been writing well over a year on medium. Honestly, the benefits and strides made thus far on my part based on personal development and goals have been worthwhile. Yet, I am not among the top writers or among the $100 earning members yet. This is mainly because I see writing as a hobby and love doing it in my spare time.

Honestly, the reactions and interactions I have had throughout my time here have made me see the worth of this platform beyond just earning money or just being famous.

I am certain that if I should give it my time as a full-time job, it will be exceedingly rewarding.

It's not easy combining my medical training with other side hustle like this. I temporarily work as an academic research assistant with most of my lecturers and training resident doctors. This has made writing for me quite fun too as my hunger for knowledge keeps growing.

I have no issue with writing and getting paid but one should be able to find joy in this chosen path. It should bring satisfaction. The wonderful thing about writing is that you don’t need to be a "professional or need a PhD" to be a good writer (although basic use and knowledge of English or the language you choose to write is very important).
